Applying to Roma Jewelry Week was a first for me. This is the first ring I have ever made (I started working on it during my silversmithing course). RJW is the first exhibition in which I present a piece of jewelry and even more, it is the first international exhibition I ever attend.

I had no expectations, I just wanted to shoot my shot and when I got the confirmation that “POveste” ring passed all the selection processes…I cannot begin to describe how happy and grateful I felt.

This ring means a lot to me. The process of designing, crafting and presenting it was very valuable for me. I experimented a lot and learned even more. I have never worked with precious metal before this ring, and the fact that I was actually able to shape it the way I felt like felt very liberating, empowering. This represented a turning point for myself, because while working on it, I have felt very strongly. On the third day of the first jewelry making course that I have taken, when I was heading home I was all smiles. It just felt like things are right, I felt that I am finally on the path that I have been searching for.

Roma Jewelry Week will for sure be an event that I will cherish for a long time. It showed me how beautiful and full of opportunities the world of contemporary jewelry is. It was amazing to find people who appreciate and create art, who cherish the meanings and the stories of each piece, who value quality and the complexity of the creation process.

It was lovely meeting everyone and I am glad we kept in touch. I am looking forward to future events and occasions to meet jewelry lovers and artists.
